Is he stayin’ or goin’?

tim-tebowIt was reported today that Florida Gators’ quarterback Tim Tebow has requested a draft projection from the NFL advisory committee following his BCS title game on January 8th. The question of whether Tebow will return or not is officially in the air, however he has stated that he will be returning to Florida no matter where the NFL advisory committee projects his selection.

NFL draft expert Mel Kiper has said that he believes Tebow would become an H-Back in the NFL rather than a quarterback, likely making him a 2nd to 4th round selection.

I have always said that Tebow would not be a successful quarterback in the NFL due to his lack of the essential quarterback skills (i.e. arm strength, accuracy, QB vision). But when you think about Tebow as an H-Back, perhaps similar to Chris Cooley, some pretty interesting things come to mind. The first thing I think of is the new ‘Wildcat’ offense that every team and their mother are running these days in the league, except the Redskins of course (who have the Randle El to do it). With Tebow lining up in a Wildcat formation, defenses will certainly have to be on their toes. I do believe it will take him a little while to become accustomed to the NFL game after sitting back in college and cutting through defenses like warm pound cake.

Tim Tebow will likely stay at Florida for his last year judging by his personality and character. He has the opportunity to win a second national title just next month and then another opportunity to win one in his senior year, which would make three titles in four years – impressive I’d say.
