Shocking News: 11-Year-Old Boy Kills Pregnant Woman

WAMPUM, Pa. – Police in western Pennsylvania say an 11-year-old boy has been charged in the death of a pregnant woman who was found shot in a bedroom of her farmhouse.

Police say the boy is charged with criminal homicide and criminal homicide of an unborn child in the killing of 26-year-old Kenzie Marie Houk. The victim was 8 months pregnant.

Lawrence County police issued a statement saying the boy had been arraigned and sent to the county Jail.

They couldn’t immediately say Saturday whether the boy and the woman were related.

Police say Houk’s 5-year-old daughter found her mother’s body Friday morning in a bedroom of their home in the community of Wampum.

The community is about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

What the hell is wrong with people? What could this kid possibly go through or see at home that would make him want to kill someone? He’s frickin’ ELEVEN! I know we don’t know all the details about the story but I would guess that it may have to do with parenting or lack there of.

It’s just a sad, sad situation. All we can do is pray for the victim’s family & friends to get through this tragedy. I couldn’t even imagine but God can get you through. I believe that.

      Nikki,

Thank you for the comments and support. This is a very unfortunate situation and I wish the best for the family as they struggle to get through such tough times.

It has since been reported that the child who shot the young woman was in fact the woman’s step-child (actually his father was engaged to the victim). And the woman was eight months pregnant, which makes this a double murder. The fetus did not live and died within moments of the shot due to lack of oxygen.

As sad as this is, I have no sympathy for this 11-year-old boy. He had HIS OWN 12-gauge shotgun that he used to go hunting with his father, therefore he knew EXACTLY how to use the weapon. And I still don’t understand why the gun is out in the open without being locked away, in a safe, high in a closet, etc. The kid is 11 and he knows exactly what he is doing.

I feel like a lot of situations are coming up involving young people and weapons. What does this say about our parenting? The lessons we teach our children? The security of our home and others?

Thanks again for the comments. Come back and see us soon,

      Shae

You commit a crime you pay the time. You are going to be locked up for a very very very long time kid. It is going to be very lonely, scary, dangerous, dark and very very long. Long enough that by the time you come out (that is if you ever do), entire generations will have passed.
I say put the father behind bars too for allowing the little criminal to have access to a gun.

I feel sorry for the victims family but, what was really going on in this house to drive this little 11 yr old boy to kill? Why would you even allow an 11 yr old to even have or use a gun? I feel sad for this child. He is alone and scared in an adult prison in a 10×10 cell?? This kid may have committed an adult crime but he should NOT be housed in an adult prison. This is totally wrong and criminal in itself. It’s obvious he needs psychiatric treatment. Shame on the P.A. court system, shame!
